Nicolas Garraud
Né à Bordeaux en 1980. "Après avoir passé, avec succès, un Baccalauréat S dans ma ville natale, j’ai rejoint l’Institut Paul Bocuse (une des écoles hôtelières françaises les plus renommées)
Ma carrière a rapidement évolué, puisque je travaillais avec des partenaires et des établissements de grande renommée tels que: Bocuse, Gleaneagles, Alain Ducasse, le Plazza Athénée, la Société des Bains de Mer, ainsi que le groupe Relais et Châteaux.
Employé comme Assistant Food and Beverage Manager au Plaza Athénée, mon supérieur m’a suggéré de partir améliorer mon anglais pour aider au développement de ma carrière professionnelle. Suivant ses conseils, j’ai trouvé un poste de Restaurant Manager au sein d’un établissement Relais et Châteaux dans le Sud-Est de l’Angleterre, mais également un macaron Michelin.
C’est donc pour cela que je recommande à toute personne du milieu hôtelier de venir en Angleterre pour une période d’un an ou plus, afin de consolider sa carrière.

Born in Bordeaux, France, 1980. After studying for High School Diploma in Bordeaux, France. I joined the Paul Bocuse Institute, one of the French quality Hospitality Management Schools.
My career flourished rapidly as I was working with many renowned European partners such as Paul Bocuse, Gleneagles, and Alain Ducasse: Plaza Athénée, the Société des Bains de Mers and the Relais & Châteaux group.
Whilst working at the Plaza Athénée, as assistant Food & Beverage Manager, I was advised to improve my English speaking skills, as this would contribute to my career development in management positions. I followed the advice I had been given at the time and it has proven to be the right choice for me.
I found a position as Restaurant Manager in a Michelin starred Restaurant within the Relais & Châteaux group.
In the United Kingdom, I have discovered another culture and different professional ethics. Providing that you are a committed Candidate, you too have many career opportunities waiting to be fulfilled.
I would recommend to all Candidates in the Hospitality & Tourism Industry to consolidate their career in the United Kingdom, for at least one year and maybe more.
